The Victim Services & Violence Against Women Program Directory provides contact information for service providers across British Columbia that assist victims of crime and women and children impacted by violence.

  • Community-based victim service programs provide services primarily to victims of family and sexual violence.

VictimLinkBC is a toll-free, confidential multilingual service available across BC and Yukon 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It provides information and referral services to all victims of crime and immediate crisis support to victims of family and sexual violence.

Crime Victim Assistance Program

Financial assistance and benefits are available through the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) to help eligible victims of violent offences, their immediate family members and some witnesses.

BC Housing (Transition Houses, Safe Homes, and Second Stage Housing)

BC Housing provides housing for women impacted by violence.
  • Transition houses provide safe, temporary 24/7 staffed shelter with support services.
  • Safe homes provide safe, temporary short term shelter and support services.
  • Second-stage houses help women who have left abusive relationships make plans for independent living. Women and their children usually stay in a second-stage house for 6-18 months.
