Tools for finding existing major projects in B.C.

Below are some tools to research existing major natural resource applications and projects in B.C. that are going through the authorization process.

Explore by location

Determine if your area of interest is available for your purpose by researching what is currently happening on the land. Before starting a natural resource major project, proponents can search for overlapping interests, and potential conflicts. It is important that this is done before a natural resource major project is applied for.

Applications, Comments, and Reasons for Decision

Section 32(2) of the Land Act sets out the B.C. government's requirement to publish Crown land applications on a publicly accessible website. Public participation in the administration of Crown land is encouraged and this site offers a platform for members of the public to submit comments for consideration.

This site contains Crown land application information posted by the Province as of October 15, 2018. Once an application has been reviewed and a decision made, it will remain on the site for a limited time.
