Learn the process for building forms.

If you're new to form-building, or it's been a while, we recommend you review the section on protecting citizen information and privacy before creating or revising forms.

The new form workflow

While building or revising forms, you'll shift from one set of activities to another. It's an iterative process.

Building a new form has the most steps, and if it's a very simple form, you'll likely build it in the following order:

  1. Create a new form
  2. Build your form
  3. Configure your form
  4. Test your form
  5. Release your form
  6. Document your form

The more complex your form, the more testing you'll do and adjustments you'll make. Treat this workflow as just a general guideline.

Revisions and retirements

Forms are expected to change over time, and eventually be retired when no longer useful.
