This dedicated team goes above and beyond, conducting extra annual sweepings for safe cycling, providing maintenance to roads without agreements, and actively participating in community events. They redefine industry standards with innovations like Safety and Quality software, smartphone apps, and liquid salt brine for anti-icing.

Capilano Highway Services embraces diversity through inclusive hiring and a gender-diverse road crew. They also demonstrate strong Indigenous relations, supporting events like the Truth and Reconciliation March and hiring First Nations subcontractors. This organization stands as a beacon of inspiration, embodying innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity.

YRB's adept use of real-time software for culvert inspections showcases their tech-savvy approach. They've innovatively designed a loader attachment for efficient asphalt patching and a compression jig for bridge joint installation.

In community relations, YRB stands out by undertaking short-notice maintenance to support local activities. This highlights their commitment to being a reliable community partner.

Service Area 19 – Fort George

Yellowhead Road and Bridge (YRB) – Fort George exceeded expectations in supporting multiple service areas during the 2023 fire season. Amid the McBride fire escalation, they swiftly placed signs on Highway 16 and assisted another contractor, even during their own community's evacuation. YRB ensured safety patrols for stranded motorists, offering fuel support.

YRB's commitment to public service is evident in their in-kind maintenance of the 12 km Penny road stretch, connecting the community to the provincial network. They actively engage local schools through educational campaigns, promoting equipment functionality and safety awareness, along with providing monetary scholarships.

In building strong ties with First Nation communities, YRB actively integrates and supports them. Their dedication to diversity, inclusion, and GBA+ is reflected in hiring practices, training, and certifying management staff. YRB is more than a road and bridge service; it's a dedicated community partner making a positive impact beyond its primary responsibilities.
