Community Energy and Emissions Inventory

Last updated on May 28, 2024

The Community Energy and Emissions Inventory (CEEI) provides community-level greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and energy consumption estimates for communities across B.C.

The data covers the buildings, municipal solid waste, and on-road transportation sectors for 161 municipalities, 28 regional districts, and 1 region (Stikine).

This supports local governments in meeting their Climate Action Charter (PDF, 70KB) commitments by helping them to measure and report on their community’s GHG emissions profile.

Data methods are applied in a B.C. context and follow international standards for emissions inventories. Find out how data is calculated for the inventory.

If you're a local government, you can use data to set targets and develop an action plan for reducing GHG emissions and energy consumption. Learn about climate action resources for local governments.
