To provide resources for standards, training and equipment for hydrometric monitoring in the Province of British Columbia.

To produce high quality hydrometric data across the province by coordinating provincial and federal activities to support the effective management, protection and sustainable use of our water resources and associated ecosystems.

Objectives

To facilitate the collection and dissemination of the best quality hydrometric data for the citizens of British Columbia.

The Provincial Hydrology Program (PHP) aims to operate a collaborative, sustainable and innovative hydrometric network providing high quality transparent data in a timely manner for use by the widest audience to expand the understanding of water resources in BC.

The PHP will expand and improve hydrometric data production through standards development, innovation, relationship building, training, and the establishment and operation of the provincial hydrometric network.

PHP consists of a team of Hydrometric Specialists who work collaboratively with a broad range of data collectors and decision-makers including internal and external organizations, partners, and third parties by providing training and mentorship to improve data quality and accessibility.
