The Indigenous Youth Internship Program (IYIP) is in its 18th year of positively impacting the BC Public Service and Indigenous communities. A vendor has been selected through BC Bid to conduct a program evaluation supported by the IYIP advisory committee, which includes representatives from the BC First Nations Summit, the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, Métis Nation BC and Indigenous BC Public Service employees. The committee guides and approves the evaluation framework, implementation and reporting. The evaluation involves conducting interviews and surveys with over 300 IYIP alumni, staff, supervisors, mentors and partner organizations.
On behalf of the BC Public Service, the BC Public Service Agency (PSA) is accountable for evaluating and improving the Indigenous Youth Internship Program (IYIP), as stated in Declaration Act Action Plan Item 4.44. The PSA contracted third-party external vendor, MNP (previously known as Meyers Norris Penny) Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) to conduct the IYIP program evaluation.
MNP surveys and interviews interested evaluation participants, including current and former interns, program staff, supervisors, mentors and placement organization representatives.
