Accessing internal postings without an active IDIR

There are several situations in which you may be eligible to apply to BC Public Service internal job postings but cannot view and apply for these postings in the Recruitment Management System, such as:

  • Auxiliary employees on layoff with recall rights
  • Employees on leave (e.g., maternity leave, long term disability, deferred salary leave, etc.)
  • Former employees (e.g. interns) who have in-service status under collective agreement provisions for a specified time
  • Eligible employees who work for an Agency, Board or Commission that does not use IDIR authentication (e.g., Liquor Distribution Branch employees)

For employees in the categories above, learn how to apply without an active IDIR.

Troubleshooting sign-in issues

This should log you in automatically; if it prompts you to enter in your log in information on another page, click on the “Single Sign-On Login” button

If you are receiving an error message, please ensure that you are using the Microsoft Edge browser, and that the cache has been cleared from the browser prior to logging in to the job postings with the instructions above. If you are still having sign-in issues, please email BCPSA.Hiring.Centre@gov.bc.ca

Accessing job postings from home

To access your internal profile, search, and apply for internal job opportunities, visit the Current BC Government Job Postings page and click the BC Public Service employees button. This should open a page to sign in using your IDIR credentials.

Accessing job postings as an employee while on leave

For employees without access to their IDIR (mat leave, aux on layoff etc), your resume profile will change from an internal resume profile to an external resume profile. To have your personal email address listed in the recruitment system after your term has ended, enter your personal email address in PeopleSoft under the secondary email address section prior to the end date of your term. Your email address will then automatically update on the Recruitment Management system within 24 to 48 hours.
