Choose your charity

Publication date: April 14, 2026

Provincial Employees Community Services Fund (PECSF) organizes charities in two ways:

  • Regional Charity Programs (formerly Fund Supported Pool): charities that have been selected based on specific criteria by members of a PECSF regional committee to receive a portion of each region’s pooled funds
  • Donor choice charities: any CRA registered charity an employee would like to support

PECSF donors can choose up to 10 charities to support at one time.

Employees can select a regional charity program or their own list of charities, but not a combination of both.

All charities must be registered with the CRA.

Option 1: Regional Charity Programs

A pool of locally screened charitable organizations where individual chapters or programs have applied for and been approved to receive a portion of funding by a local PECSF regional committee.

These organizations are required to report out annually on the status of their approved program to continue to receive funding during each three-year funding cycle.

Regional Charity Programs are available in the following regions:

  • Capital Region
  • Cariboo
  • Fraser Fort George
  • Fraser Valley
  • Metro Vancouver
  • Nanaimo
  • Thompson-Nicola

Option 2: Donor choice charities (choose your own)

Choose any CRA registered charity in good standing. Funds can be directed to a specific location or program. Any CRA registered charity can be chosen as a donor choice charity, including any that are also currently included in a regional charity program.

To find registered charity name and registration numbers, visit the CRA website or contact PECSF for assistance. PECSF ensures each charity is in good standing with the CRA prior to sending funds.

If your charity is no longer in good standing or has closed, you'll be contacted and your current donation held until you allocate the funds to another organization.
