Travel

Criteria

Remote meeting technologies, such as teleconference, videoconference, and online conferencing services, should be used wherever possible if they are not detrimental to the quality of the project.

Travel on behalf of the Province and for the purposes of completing the work described in this RFx should be minimized, and should be undertaken in the most environmentally preferable way, including, but not limited to the following:

• Travel should create the least emissions possible, including, but not limited to, the use of public transit, and active transportation modes such as cycling or walking when feasible
• Where vehicle use is required, zero- and lowest-emission vehicles should be prioritized, and carpooling should be considered

Sample RFx questions

• Describe when in-person meetings are required and the reason(s) why. If an in-person meeting is required to ensure the project's quality, please explain how this will be managed to reduce emissions.
• Describe modes of travel the proponent proposes to use, and how each will create the least emissions possible.
