Construction is underway on the 264th Street Interchange Project, which will B.C.’s first diverging diamond interchange.

Project highlights

  • Replacing the existing cloverleaf interchange at 264th Street with a diverging diamond interchange (PDF, 1.5MB)
  • Replacing the existing bridge structure with a new structure with an increased height of 5.2 metres
  • Improving active transportation connections and adding a mobility hub with a bus loop and vehicle parking for more than 180 passenger vehicles
  • Adding a multi-use-path (MUP) parallel to Highway 1 on the north side between 264th Street and Mt. Lehman Road
  • Adding a new commercial vehicle rest area with space for more than 25 trucks

Status

The 264th Interchange Project is in construction. Anticipated completion 2027.

Cost

The contract value for the 264th Street Interchange Project is $287 million.

The contract was awarded to KEA Fraser Valley Connectors.
