Supporting Healthy Relationships: Domestic Violence Prevention/Intervention Programming

List of successful community organization grant recipients

To support a commitment in the Provincial Domestic Violence Plan, the Ministry has awarded one-time grants of $60,000 to eleven not-for-profit community organizations that presently deliver domestic violence prevention/intervention programming to perpetrators prior to the charge, conviction or sentencing stage of the criminal justice process. Funding will support organizations in a number of ways including to enhance/expand their programming, to deliver their program over an 18-month period and to participate in formal evaluation activities.

Safety Planning with Children and Youth: A Toolkit for Working with Children and Youth Exposed to Domestic Violence helps victim service workers develop safety plans for children and youth. It offers:

  • Steps to follow when safety-planning with children and youth
  • Specific information for safety planning with children and youth of all developmental stages
  • Practice tips, sample templates, suggested methods, and resources
