The Capital Division leads capital and facility projects across BC Corrections. This includes new buildings, renovations, upgrades and long-term facility planning.
The division uses sustainable, long-range planning and evidence-based design to create safe, practical correctional facilities and Community Corrections offices. It also uses technology to support security, surveillance and building management.

Current projects
The division is currently managing:
- Segregation-area renovations to better meet the needs of people who require focused case management
- Community Corrections office renovations in all regions of B.C. to improve staff safety and program delivery
Completed projects
Since 2008, the division has completed about $700 million in major capital projects to address capacity pressures and program needs across the province.
Recent projects include:
- Nanaimo Correctional Centre replacement
- A work program facility at Ford Mountain (Xàws Schó:lha [house-Shhka-law]) Correctional Centre
- Okanagan Correctional Centre
- Expansion of Surrey Pretrial Services Centre
- Expansion of Alouette Correctional Centre for Women
