On November 17, 2013, the Honourable Teresa Wat held a consultation forum hosted by the Victoria Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association. This was the first in a series of consultation forums in which government actively engaged British Columbia's Chinese community, associations and individuals who were directly and indirectly impacted by historical discriminatory legislation. The purpose of the forum was to allow the community to provide guidance toward an appropriate public apology.
