Celebrating British Columbia

Provincial honours and awards are a memorable and distinctive way for the Province to thank and pay special tribute to those British Columbian's whose lives exemplify excellence and achievement of the highest order. 

Each year, the Province celebrates organizations that have made outstanding contributions to British Columbia’s transportation system.

Heritage is a broad concept that is not easily or universally defined and touches on a wide range of places and experiences. It encompasses any aspect of the past that citizens continue to value and is vital to individual and community identities.

B.C. residents may receive congratulatory messages from officials for significant birthdays and wedding anniversaries.

Several provincial symbols have been established to highlight unique and important elements of B.C.

More than 220 projects in 150 communities throughout British Columbia are receiving a total of $7.6 million in B.C. | Canada 150 grants.

The provincial government may issue proclamations to give official recognition to occasions or events of provincial importance.
