Project: Lions Gate Bridge Reversible Lane Control System Rehabilitation
Location: Vancouver, B.C.
On average, 60,000 drivers cross the Lions Gate Bridge every day. They depend on the counterflow system to reduce travel times in peak periods.
PBX Engineering Ltd. designed and implemented a safe, efficient and effective system cutover that only required a single weekend evening closure. The last full rehabilitation in 2002 required a full weekend closure. This project increased safety, capacity and reliability, reduced traffic congestion and added more cybersecurity controls to the system.
Project: Highway 8 Reinstatement Program
Location: Highway 8 between Merritt and Spences Bridge
Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. demonstrated a tremendous amount of overall dedication, flexibility, and responsiveness in assisting the response to the atmospheric river event of November 2021 to execute these critical reinstatement works.
Triton successfully managed significant challenges throughout the course of this project, including extreme weather and prominent wildlife movements. They undertook multiple fish salvages, monitored water quality of the Nicola River and oversaw multiple full-scale river diversions.
