Residential Organic Waste Diversion

In B.C., Regional Districts are responsible for solid waste management planning which includes managing organic waste. As a result, many local governments in B.C. have organic diversion programs for recycling yard waste, food waste, or both and many residents live in communities that have organics disposal bans or restrictions.

Learn more about the role Green Bins play in organic waste diversion on our compost page.
