Clean Industry Fund

Last updated on April 1, 2026

The Clean Industry Fund (CIF) supports the development, trial and deployment of projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions from large industrial operations in British Columbia.

Eligibility Overview

CIF supports B.C.'s industrial transition to a low-carbon economy by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the development and adoption of innovative, clean technologies. This is done through three funding streams:

  • Emissions Performance – supports projects that reduce emissions at eligible industrial operations using commercially available technology
  • Innovation Accelerator - supports projects that trial or demonstrate pre-commercial emissions-reduction technologies
  • Feasibility Studies - supports preliminary studies associated with projects that qualify under either of the above streams

Availability of funding streams is subject to change.

Who is eligible

An operation may be eligible if it is regulated under BC's Output-Based Pricing System (OBPS). This includes both mandatory Regulated Operations as well as opted-in facilities. New entrants under the OBPS are not eligible.

Partnerships are encouraged, but the lead applicant must be an OBPS Regulated Operation.

For complete eligibility information, see the RFP specific to each funding stream, available through the Apply for funding link below.
