Well reports
Last updated on November 21, 2025Under the Groundwater Protection Regulation, the well driller or person responsible is required to submit well reports/records within 90 days after completion of drilling, altering, or decommissioning of a well to the Comptroller of Water Rights. Well reports form the basis of the well record.

Well report submission
Please submit the completed well reports:
- Online via the provincial Groundwater Wells and Aquifer Application (GWELLS)
- ​​​​​​​The GWELLS Data Entry Guidelines (PDF, 2.6MB) provide information on how to enter water well information from current Ministry of Environment well record forms into GWELLS Application.

Pump installers can use the following reports when installing a pump to record the relevant information. Pump installation reports do not need to be submitted to the ministry.
