Each year a venture capital corporation (VCC) must submit an Annual Return (PDF, 636 KB), together with copies of its financial statements and central securities register. These are reviewed to ensure the VCC's continued compliance with the program.
Annual returns are due within six months of the VCC's fiscal year-end. For the purposes of section 29 of the Small Business Venture Capital Act, a VCC must, with respect to its most recently ended fiscal year, include the information outlined in section 20 of the Small Business Venture Capital Regulation in its annual return.
VCCs are encouraged to submit their Annual Return documents online via the electronic Tax Credit Application (eTCA) system. Alternately, PDF copies of the documents may be manually submitted via email to their Portfolio Manager or to the Venture Capital Tax Credit Program at InvestmentCapital@gov.bc.ca.
