Financial processes

There are financial processes in place to help you make good choices, plan your budgets well, and take care of public funds in a responsible way.

• Search the LearningHUB (IDIR Restricted) for financial management courses based on your role using keywords like planning, budgeting, expense authorities, procurement, financial controls, risk management, reporting, and analysis
• Access Office of the Comptroller General (OCG) forms (IDIR Restricted) for required financial management forms
• Use the Commercial Card Services Program to simplify purchasing and consolidate payments
• Review the goods and services catalogue for administrative purchasing tools, procurement methods and accommodation rates
• Visit Compass (IDIR restricted) and select HR and Finance Resources to find corporate finance and procurement resources
• Visit your ministry intranet site for their specific chart of accounts. Reach out to your ministry’s Financial Management Office for additional information specific to your ministry or organization

Technology and digital tools

Technology changes quickly. Use these resources to stay up to date with the digital tools that support your daily work.

• Visit Your Digital Workplace (IDIR restricted) to learn about Microsoft tools (Outlook, Teams, Copilot, SharePoint and more) with resources, short how-to videos and upcoming training events
• Review artificial intelligence guidance for information on responsible use of artificial intelligence, learning resources and how to use Copilot on your government workstation

Technical support

Use these services when you need support with IT problems or HR systems. Contact your ministry IM/IT support team for issues or requests related to ministry-specific applications.

• Contact CSBC | My Service Centre (IDIR restricted) by email (77000@gov.bc.ca) or telephone (250-387-7000 or toll-free 1-866-660-0811) to reset your IDIR and for government-wide IT systems support
• Use AskMyHR (IDIR restricted) for HR-related software systems support such as Manager Self-Serve, PeopleSoft, Time & Leave, Recruitment Management, and Corporate Learning
• Join Microsoft 365 office hours to get help using Microsoft tools like Outlook, Teams, or OneDrive
• Enrol in HR Foundations (IDIR restricted) and review the Applications and Support module
