Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (​CVSE) inspections and standards apply to both commercial and private vehicles in British Columbia. Compliance ensures safe vehicles are operating on B.C. roadways.
In order to access the services available within the Vehicle Safety BC Portal, you will need either a Personal or Business BCeID or BC Services Card.
Private and commercial vehicle inspections are performed by qualified mechanics authorized as inspectors. Inspections are completed at designated inspection facilities or preventative maintenance facilities.
CVSE Area Vehicle Inspectors conduct periodic audits on both designated inspection facilities and preventative maintenance facilities to monitor compliance of all applicable program standards.

RCMP, Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) peace officers, and other policing agencies can issue a violation ticket and require an inspection for any vehicle or driver on B.C. roads.
The B.C. Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement program promotes compliance with safety regulations with the commercial transport sector. You will see CVSE peace officers at road checks, patrolling B.C. highways in mobile units and at inspection stations/weigh scales across the province year-round.
