Adopt a Highway Volunteer Safety

Safety is paramount - and for that reason, the ministry provides safety vests, signage and a safety checklist for those working on roadways. Here are some steps volunteers will need to take:

  1. Watch the volunteer safety tips video
  2. Watch the invasive plant spotting and reporting video
  3. Become familiar with the the COVID-19 safety guidelines and general safety guidelines
  4. Review and refer to the safety checklist (PDF)
  5. Review the invasive plants Adopt a Highway Fact Sheet
  6. Request invasive plant training through your district or area invasive species committee
