RoadSafetyBC adjudicators may rely on the technical materials below in driving prohibition reviews.

Approved screening device operator manual

An approved screening device is authorized for use by the Attorney General of Canada. Screening devices give police a reliable method for determining a person’s blood alcohol concentration.

Certificate of analysis

The Certificate of Analysis records the dry gas lot numbers used on approved screening devices (ASD) in British Columbia. The lot number is on the Certificate of Qualified ASD Calibrator, which may be in the police disclosure on certain prohibition reviews. Qualified ASD calibrators use the gas to check or re-calibrated devices.
