CPKC Replacement Railway Crossing

Construction is underway on the Rail Overhead Replacement Project.

Project highlights

Artist rendering of the Rail Overhead Replacement which will be 160 m long and 5.2 m high

Replacing the existing railway box structures with a 160 m long overhead rail crossing with an increased height of 5.2 metres
Widening Highway 1 with additional HOV lanes eastbound and westbound
Realigning 2 km of rail within the rail right-of-way

Status

The Rail Overhead Replacement Project is under construction. Completion is anticipated in 2029.

Cost

The contract is valued at $74.2 million and was awarded to Norland Kingston General Partnership.
