CPKC Replacement Railway Crossing

Design is underway on the CPKC Rail Overhead Replacement Project.

Project highlights

  • Replacing the existing railway box structures with with a 160 m long overhead rail crossing with an increased height of 5.2 metres
  • Widening Highway 1 with additional HOV lanes eastbound and westbound
  • Realigning 2 km of rail within the rail right-of-way
  • Constructing a 160 metre long underpass structure for rail to cross over Highway 1

Status

The CPKC Rail Overhead Replacement Project is in design. Anticipated completion 2029.

Cost

The contract value for the CPKC Replacement Railway Crossing Project is to be confirmed.
