Home owner grant

The provincial government announced its 2026 Budget on February 17, 2026. Programs administered by the Property Taxation Branch are amended as a result. Learn more at B.C. Provincial budget tax changes.
January 2, 2026
The home owner grant threshold for 2026 is adjusted to $2.075 million. This new threshold ensures the same percentage of British Columbia homes are below the threshold compared to 2025.

Property transfer tax
February 24, 2026
Property transfer tax information for transfers of land beneficially owned by First Nations has been updated. Eligible payments of property transfer tax may qualify for refunds.
