Requirements for starting a new mine in B.C.

If you’re starting a new mine in B.C., you have to apply for permits and other authorizations before you can begin mineral exploration and mining activities. You will also have to pay a mine inspection fee.

You may qualify for the new mine allowance for up to one-third of your capital costs for new mines and for expansions of existing mines.

Keep records

You must keep your business records at your office in B.C. for seven years after your mine’s year end.
