Angling Licence Fee Reduction Program for B.C. residents with disabilities

Any B.C. resident with a severe and permanent disability may apply for an annual freshwater fishing licence at the reduced fee of $1.14.

The fee reduction only applies to the annual basic licence. There is no fee reduction for Conservation Surcharge Stamps, the White Sturgeon Conservation Licence or the Classified Waters Licence.

How to apply

  1. Fill out the application form for an angling licence fee reduction (PDF, 229KB)
  2. Gather documentation to confirm that you receive one of the benefits listed in Part B of the application. If this documentation cannot be provided, then Part C must be completed by a practicing registered B.C. physician or nurse
  3. Applications can be submitted:
    • In person at most Service BC locations
    • By mail to:

Mailed applications are generally processed within 10 days of their receipt.

Application approval and purchasing your licence

Once you have been approved for the program, you will receive a Certificate of Eligibility and can buy your licence.

If you buy your licence in person from a licence vendor, you will be required to present your Certificate of Eligibility or an expired Annual Disabled Angling Licence.

If you were previously approved for the program but your expired licence or Certificate of Eligibility is lost, stolen or destroyed, you may confirm your eligibility by contacting FrontCounter BC.

No refunds will be made on licences purchased at the full price.
