Angling Licence Fee Reduction Program for B.C. residents with disabilities

British Columbia residents with a disability are eligible to apply for an annual freshwater fishing licence at a reduced fee of $1.14, subject to program eligibility requirements.

The fee reduction only applies to the annual basic licence. There is no fee reduction for Conservation Surcharge Stamps, the White Sturgeon Conservation Licence or the Classified Waters Licence.

How to apply

  1. Fill out the Angling Licence Reduced Fee Application (DOCX, 162KB)
  2. If you receive one of the benefits listed in Part B of the application form, provide the requested documentation to confirm your eligibility. Alternatively, you can have a practicing registered B.C. physician or nurse complete Part C
  3. Applications can be submitted:

Mailed applications are generally processed within 10 days of their receipt.

Application approval and purchasing your licence

Once your application has been approved, your eligibility for the Angling Licence Fee Reduction Program will be recorded in the Wildlife Information and Licensing Data (WILD) system and linked to your Fish and Wildlife ID (FWID). Applicants who apply by mail or email may also receive a Certificate of Eligibility.

You may then purchase an annual freshwater fishing licence at the reduced fee.

If you purchase your licence from a licence vendor, you will need to present your Certificate of Eligibility or an expired reduced-fee angling licence.

If you were previously approved for the program but your Certificate of Eligibility or expired reduced-fee licence has been lost, stolen, or destroyed, contact FrontCounter BC for assistance.

If you are not on the list of people having been approved for the credential you may be required to resubmit the Fee Reduced Angling Licence eligibility application.

No refunds will be made on licences purchased at the full price.
