Proposed regulation

  • Amend the closure boundary to include portions of the Premier Lake Provincial Park.
    • The boundary would commence at the north end of the Park at [49.932995°, -115.662376°] making this section of road green year-round open and carry the boundary south to [49.914108°, -115.650787°] at the intersection of Premier Lake FSR
    • At which point make the boundary the Premier Lake FSR and making this section of road yellow seasonally open to [49.888435°, -115.649623°] where it intersects the current SE boundary and again at [49.884551°, -115.651960°] to [49.880831°, -115.653055°]

Rationale

The proposed regulation change is intended to,

(1) eliminate vehicle impacts to wildlife and habitat values within the park during sensitive winter months,

(2) to help with public understanding and compliance both within the park and within the Premier Ridge MVCA as the roads span both jurisdictions, and

(3) help with public understanding by including portion of Park in MVCA to what has been historically understood as legislated under the MVPR.
