Rationale

The entire Cayoosh Range is considered the same mountain goat population unit, but the current LEH zones only encompasses part of the range. Historic collar data from this area provides additional support to defining the whole Cayoosh Range as a single population unit. It is proposed to expand Zone D of 3-16 to encompass the portion of the Cayoosh mountain goat PMU in the Thompson Region that is not currently open to hunting. The objective with expanding this zone is to distribute harvest across the Cayoosh Range, provide a higher quality hunting opportunity by providing access to more area.
