Mar 25, 2015 - Gaming Funds Used to Support Victims of CyclonePam

Organizations wishing to participate in fundraising for victims of Cyclone Pam (Vanuatu) may be licensed to conduct gaming events to assist with relief efforts. Funds raised from these events must be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Society - B.C. and Yukon.

In January 2005, the government made amendments to gaming policies, allowing in certain circumstances the use of net proceeds from licensed gaming events to assist with relief efforts for disasters and emergencies that have occurred outside of British Columbia. Organizations wishing to participate in such fundraising efforts must meet the specified criteria and obtain a licence from the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch.
