Reporting to a Sex Offender Registry

You must report in person to a registration centre within 7 days of receiving a:

  • Order to Comply with Sex Offender Information Registration Act (Form 52);
  • Notice of Obligation to Comply With Sex Offender Information Registration Act (Form 53);
  • Obligation to Comply with Sex Offender Information Registration Act (Form 54)

For example, if you receive an order, notice or obligation on the 1st day of the month, you must report no later than the 8th day of the month.

If you are sentenced to custody for committing an offence and you also receive a Form 52 Order, you must report to a registration centre within 7 days after you are released from custody.

If you are subject to more than one order, notice or obligation you must report on the dates established by the most recent one. You are still required to report for the duration of all your orders, notices or obligations.

You are not allowed to leave Canada before reporting to a registration centre.
