This section provides phone numbers for children and young people to call if you need help and support. It also provides information about how to report when a child or young person needs protection.
If you are a child or youth and you or someone you know is unsafe or being abused, call theāÆHelpline for ChildrenāÆat 1-877-631-8282 at any time. The call is free and you do not have to give your name.
Call the Youth Against Violence Line (YAVL) at 1-800-680-4264 in B.C. (free of charge), 24 hours, 7 days a week. Deaf and hard of hearing callers: TTY 604 875-0885 (collect calls accepted) or text: 604 836-6381.

Everyone has a legal obligation to report situations where a child or young person (under 19) needs protection because they are being abused, neglected, sexually exploited, or are otherwise unsafe.
If a child or youth is in immediate danger, call 9-1-1. If the child or youth needs protection, call theāÆMinistry of Children and Family Development at 1-800-663-9122 at any time (calls are free).
