SPAR access requirements

Access to the Seed Planning and Registry (SPAR) application can be obtained for a company or client registered in the application. To obtain access, ministry users will need an IDIR and non-ministry users will need a business level BCeID. Please select from the options below to learn more.

How to request access to SPAR

 

For non-government users

If you are a consultant submitting seedling requests on behalf of your client, please provide documentation from your client authorizing you to access their client account. Please send authorizations to FORHTIP.SEEDHELP@gov.bc.ca

Security levels available to private sector clients

Security level Authorized actions
View and report View seedlot and vegetative lot information online and download or print reports. 
Silviculture supervisor View seedlot and vegetative lot information online and download or print reports. View, enter, update, approve and report on seedling requests for their agency. Allocate lots owned by their agency as reserved or surplus. 
Private nursery View seedlot and vegetative lot information online and download or print reports. Enter sowing dates for their nursery. View and report on seedling requests assigned to their nursery.
 

For government users

To obtain access, government staff will need to send:

  1. Your IDIR
  2. Where you work (one of the following)
    • Forest Investment Program (FIP)
    • BCTS business area (please specify)
    • FOR district or region (please specify)
  3. Required security level (see table below)

For registering seedlots in SPAR

 

Seedlot or Veglot Registration - Collection from a Natural Stand (Class B)

Both ministry and non-ministry users will need Silviculture Supervisor access to register natural stand (class B) seedlots in SPAR. Please note that Ministry Users may enter and update lots within their own Organizational Unit and Non-Ministry Users may enter and update lots where their sign in client profile matches the Applicant Client.

To obtain access please use the Electronic Forest Management Application Access form for SPAR.

 

Seedlot Registration - Collection from Parent Trees in an Orchard (Class A)

Both ministry and non-ministry users will need Silviculture Supervisor and Orchard level access to register orchard seedlots (class A) in SPAR. Please note that Ministry Users may enter and update lots within their own Organizational Unit and Non-Ministry Users may enter and update lots where their sign in client profile matches the Applicant Client.

To obtain access, please send an email to FORHTIP.SEEDHELP@gov.bc.ca. Please make a note that you will need to enter class A seedlots in SPAR and provide your BCeID/IDIR and the client name or client number that you will be registering seedlots for.
