Waste Plus system

Last updated on April 9, 2026

Waste Plus is replacing Waste, the system for reporting and managing forestry residue and waste after timber harvesting. Waste Plus will improve how forestry waste is reported, reviewed and billed in British Columbia. It will replace several outdated and disconnected systems with one modern application that will be easier to use.

Why Waste Plus

The current waste process requires users to move data between systems and re-enter information. This can lead to errors, rejected submissions, and delays in billing. Waste Plus reduces this complexity and supports more efficient workflows for industry and ministry staff.

What the new system will offer

Waste Plus will bring all waste-related work into one place. It will include:

  • Built‑in validation
  • Offline data entry for field work
  • Support for managing clients
  • Automated approvals for straightforward submissions

By simplifying processes, Waste Plus will save time, reduce errors and support forest management across the province.

Waste Plus search

Waste Plus is being rolled out gradually. The first release is a search feature so users can look up their waste submissions. Search results in Waste Plus link back to records in Waste, making it easy to move between the two systems.

For help using Waste Plus search, see How to search in Waste Plus: A guide for users with Business BCeID access (PDF, 1.1MB).

Access Waste Plus

Waste Plus users require a Business BCeID to access the system. If  you don't currently have access to the Waste system, you can submit a Waste system access request.
