Community Energy and Emissions Database (CEED)
Last updated on July 6, 2022The Province is implementing a Community Energy and Emissions Database (CEED) to enable evidence-based climate action policies, programs, and investments across B.C. This will support the efforts of local governments and Indigenous nations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to a changing climate and implement infrastructure projects.
The database provides a framework to track and support:
- Community energy planning
- Community energy and emissions data
- Community-led clean energy projects
- Funding programs to support climate action projects
To date the database has been used to support:
- Program development for the CleanBC Remote Community Energy Strategy
- Administration of the Community Energy Leadership Program and First Nations Clean Energy Business Fund
- The BC Community Climate Funding Guide for Indigenous communities and local governments
- Local government and Modern Treaty Nation reporting for the Local Government Climate Action Program
