- Creams or ointments: weight in grams

- Nebulizers and other inhaled medications: volume in millilitres (see also list of specific inhaled medications)
- Patches: number of patches
- Powders for injection: grams or number of vials
- Prefilled vaccine syringes: volume in millilitres (e.g., 0.5 mL)
- Pre-loaded syringes: number of syringes
- Sprays: number of doses (if provided on packaging); otherwise, volume in millilitres
- Suppositories: number of suppositories
- Tablet/capsules/caplets: number of tablets or capsules or caplets
