Nominate a Health Technology for Review

The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) process is described on this page and provides evidence-informed findings to support a system sponsor (a person or group that has the authority to make decisions around planning, policy development, and /or implementation).

While a system sponsor is required, anyone can nominate a topic. Nominated topics must be approved for use in Canada and British Columbia, meaning any regulatory requirements must already be met. This typically means the health technology must be Health Canada approved and may need to be compliant with other regulation and/or guidelines as applicable.

To submit your nomination please download this form (PDF, 363KB) and follow the instructions on the form. Send the completed form by email to the HTA Office (HTA.Office@gov.bc.ca).

Not all nominated topics will be assessed. The Health Technology Assessment Committee (HTAC) prioritizes health technologies on an quarterly basis. Nominations may be submitted at any time. HTAC uses a multi-criteria decision analysis matrix to prioritize topics, it can be seen here (PDF, ###KB).

If you have any questions about the nomination, prioritization or other aspects of the HTA process, please contact the HTA Office (HTA.Office@gov.bc.ca).
