The British Columbia Health Technology Assessment Committee (HTAC) provides evidence-informed findings to support decisions around policy development, planning, and implementation of certain non-drug therapeutic interventions (e.g., devices, medical procedures, diagnostics, and programs).
The HTAC is a multidisciplinary group that includes the following roles listed alphabetically:
- Economist – senior health economist (professional volunteer)
- Ethicist – senior ethicist specializing in health (professional volunteer)
- First Nations Health Authority – senior/executive representative
- Fraser Health Authority – senior/executive representative
- Interior Health Authority – senior/executive representative
- Island Health Authority – senior/executive representative
- Ministry of Health – senior/executive representative
- Northern Health Authority – senior/executive representative
- Patient advisors (2) – public members (volunteers) via the Patient Voices Network
- Provincial Health Services Authority Supply Chain – senior/executive representative
- Public Health Member – senior clinical representative
- Scientific Advisor – senior health technology scientist (professional volunteer)
- Vancouver Coastal Health Authority – senior/executive representative
