Francophone Affairs Program

The B.C. Francophone Affairs Program supports programs and services in both English and French through the Canada – British Columbia Official Languages Agreement on French-Language Services (PDF) for approximately 70,000 Francophones and 300,000 Francophiles in B.C. to ensure our French-speaking community has access to information it needs.

We focus on provincial activities in these areas:

  • Health and Social Services
  • Economic Development
  • Justice
  • Arts and Culture
  • Communication

We invite you to read the most recent annual report (PDF) for the list of projects supported by the B.C. Francophone Affairs program.

To find out about programs and services supported by the B.C. government, you can request a call-back to speak with a Service BC representative in French.

The Government of B.C. also participates in two annual Francophone events in the community.

Federal-Provincial Funding Partnership

Through the federal-provincial funding partnership program, eligible government organizations may apply for funding to deliver a program or service in French. The funding partnership matches financial contributions made by the organizations and can be used to deliver the program or service directly or through a third party.
