For many of us, driving our own vehicle is the best way to get around. It can feel like a key component of our independence and freedom, one that we loathe to give up. As we age, however, we need to be aware of the ways aging can affect a driver's ability; we need to strive to drive as safely as possible; and we need to be able to make realistic assessments of our own driving capacity.
