Fish data and information can include fish distribution, population status, and condition/capability of supporting habitats for all freshwater fish species in B.C.

Much of this information is gathered through fish inventory surveys undertaken to determine the presence or abundance of a species as well as through targeted habitat assessments. Fish data and information includes counts, occurrences, inventory results, habitat descriptions, reports, maps and spatial files.

The intent of having a central repository for fish data and information is to facilitate the storage and access to the data and results required for making informed management decisions and improving conservation efforts.
