Guidance Documents Related to the Environmental Assessments

The following documents provide detailed guidance to Environmental Assessment (EA) participants who are experienced in the EA process, or wish to learn the details of the EA process. 2018 Act resources related to public participation, and Indigenous nation participation have also been gathered for convenience.

On December 16th, 2019, the new Environmental Assessment Act (2018), came into force. Many projects with an EA already underway continued under the former Act (2002) process, while any projects that began their EA after December 16th, 2019 are proceeding under the current Act (2018) process. Each process has its own unique supporting guidance materials.
