Climate Change Accountability Report

Last updated on November 30, 2023

Under the Climate Change Accountability Act, the B.C. government is required to submit a report to the legislature each year outlining progress on climate action.

The most recent Climate Change Accountability Report (PDF, 6.7MB) includes information on B.C.’s progress and actions during the previous fiscal year (April 2022 to March 2023) and actions underway or planned for the current fiscal year (April 2023 to March 2024).

The report publishes the latest provincial emissions data, details the Province's spending on climate action, and assesses progress towards our emissions reduction targets. It also provides progress updates on a wide range of programs and actions to reduce emissions, build a cleaner economy, and prepare for the impacts of climate change.

Further details can be found in a recorded briefing on the 2023 Climate Change Accountability Report and in the 2023 supporting materials (PDF, 1.9MB). Past climate reporting and supplemental reports are also available.
