Processing time

SPD works on replacement licences every business day. You can expect to get your new licence copy within 2 weeks or sooner. If you give SPD your email address, you can get an email copy while you wait.

Replace

Option 1: Online (Recommended)

  1. If you don't have one, create a BCeID account
  2. Email securitylicensing@gov.bc.ca to ask for a subscription code. Include your:
    • Business’s name
    • Manager’s name
    • Manager's contact information
    • The email address to send the code to
  3. Log in to replace your licence. Use a laptop or desktop. Don't use a phone or tablet
    •  If you have a B.C. government IDIR, you may need to close your browser first, then copy the login link into a new window

Option 2: Mail

  1. Complete Form SPD 0502: Request for Replacement of Current Security Business Licence (PDF, 277 KB)
  2. Pay replacement fee
  3. Mail the replacement form to Security Programs Division. Give an email address if you would like to get an email copy of your licence.

Pay replacement fee

To pay with credit card:

  • Complete the credit card authorization form (attached to the replacement form)

To pay with certified cheque or money order (no personal or business cheques)

  • Make payable to Minister of Finance

After you submit

Security Programs Division (SPD) will:

  • Process the replacement
  • Mail you a new licence in about 2 weeks

If you give SPD your email address, you can get an email copy of your licence before it comes in the mail.

Cancel replacement

To cancel your replacement, contact Security Programs Division. The replacement fee is non-refundable
