Workforce Profile Reports

Last updated on January 10, 2025

Employment equity means eliminating barriers to employment and ensuring fair treatment in hiring, training and promotions. The BC Public Service collects information about employment equity  through employee surveys and statistics, which are used to create the BC Public Service Workforce Profiles.

The Workforce Profiles Reports provide representation statistics for BC Public Service (BCPS) employees who are:

  • Women
  • Indigenous peoples
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Racialized
  • 2SLGBTQ+ (introduced in 2024)

These demographic groupings are listed in the Employment Equity Act and/or in Where We All Belong, the BC Public Service’s equity, diversity, and inclusion strategy.

For more information on methodology, definitions and caveats, see the Workforce Profile Dashboard.

Connection with Work Environment Survey

The Work Environment Survey (WES) has included demographic questions required for employment equity reporting since 2009. WES is administered every other year, and the Workforce Profiles application is updated after each WES cycle.
