Workforce Profile Reports

Last updated on July 18, 2024

Employment equity means eliminating barriers to employment and creating a workplace with equitable treatment in hiring, training and promotion. Information to assess employment equity practices in the BC Public Service is gathered through employee surveys and statistics to produce the BC Public Service Workforce Profiles.

The Workforce Profiles Reports provide important perspective on representation of equity groups within the BC Public Service and all of its ministries and organizations.

The report currently focuses on 4 equity groups identified in the Employment Equity Act:

  • Women
  • Indigenous peoples
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Members of visible minorities

Connection with Work Environment Survey

Since 2009 four demographic questions required for employment equity reporting have been part of the Work Environment Survey (WES). WES is administered every other year. New Workforce Profiles are created after a completed WES cycle.
