Note:  BC Transit has implemented a new electronic fare system referred to as Umo.

  • Kamloops ProPASS will transition to Umo in the Spring of 2024
  • Cardholders will be contacted directly with instructions once dates are confirmed

Cost

ProPASS is a monthly cost that is spread evenly over 24 pay periods for the year, bi-weekly. On a month with three pay days, the deductions will only occur on the first two pay days of the month. If an employee exits early, they may have the full month cost deducted on one pay cheque.

Employees can have up to two additional passes for adult family members who live with them.

ProPASS cost details are found at BC Transit Kamloops.

Guidelines

  • Once your AskMyHR service request has been processed, Transit Kamloops will contact you to arrange for a photo and to pick up the pass
  • If you haven't heard from BC Transit within two weeks of submitting your application, follow up with your AskMyHR service request
  • There's a minimum one-year commitment for a ProPASS
  • If you decide after a year that the ProPASS isn't meeting your needs, you can withdraw from the program and terminate your pass
  • The only exceptions for earlier cancellation are:
    • Employee relocation or termination
    • Circumstances authorized by the payroll department, such as maternity or parental leave, long-term disability or WorkSafeBC time loss claims
  • If you relocate or discontinue employment with your employer, you're automatically withdrawn from the program and must relinquish your ProPASS card
  • Once the ProPASS administrator has your ProPASS card, your employer cancels the payroll deductions

Suspend a pass

You can suspend your pass for a minimum of three months if you take a leave from work, such as maternity or paternity leave, or a leave due to disability or injury.

To suspend your pass

Submit an AskMyHRRestricted Access service request using the categories Myself > Submit a Form or Document > Pay/Overtime Form.

In the service request include:

  • The leave you will be on, such as maternity, paternity or leave due to a disability or injury
  • A photo of your destroyed ProPASS, a new one will be issued when you reactivate your ProPASS

Note: If you do not include a photo of your destroyed card, you'll be charged retroactively for the pass when you return to work.

To reactivate a suspended pass

  • To reactivate a suspended pass, submit an AskMyHRRestricted Access service request with your reactivation date
  • Use the categories Myself > Submit a Form or Document > Pay/Overtime Form
  • BC Transit Kamloops will contact you to pick up your pass, and payroll deductions will start again

Terminate a pass

ProPASS is continuous (no expiry date) and payroll deductions will only end when you've submitted proof of your destroyed ProPASS card through an AskMyHR service request.

Submit an AskMyHRRestricted Access service request using the categories Myself > Submit a Form or Document > Pay/Overtime Form.

In the service request include:

  • The date you want the ProPASS terminated
