These resources help guide conversations around equity, diversity, inclusion and Indigenous reconciliation in the workplace:

• BC Public Service Corporate Values: These principles describe the qualities we value in our colleagues and in our organization. They were chosen after consultation and discussion across government
• Guidance for GBA+ in Cabinet and Treasury Board Submissions (PDF, 214KB): This document is provided for additional information and guidance for the purposes of completing the Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) components of Cabinet and Treasury Board submissions, including the Request for Decision Template and Request for Legislation Template.
• Respectful Workplaces: Employees are to treat each other with respect and dignity and must not engage in discriminatory conduct prohibited by the Human Rights Code and must contribute to a positive work environment. Inappropriate workplace behaviour, conduct or comments that can be perceived to be belittling or condescending go against the Standards of Conduct and the BC Public Service Corporate Values. The Discrimination and Harassment in the Workplace (PDF, 210KB) policy supports the Government of British Columbia’s commitment, in cooperation with its unions and associations, to promote a work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity
• Indigenous Relations Behavioural Competencies (IRBCs): These competencies improve the BC Public Service’s individual and collective abilities to work respectfully and effectively with the Indigenous people of B.C.
• Resilience BC Anti-Racism Network: This network offers a multi-faceted, province wide approach with greater focus and leadership in identifying and challenging racism
• Reflecting Our Communities (PDF, 2.7MB): A report on the inclusive approach to hiring, developing, engaging and retaining employees with disabilities
• Supporting Transgender and Gender Diverse Employees in the Workplace (PDF, 289KB): A guide for supervisors and employees that covers topics such as understanding gender identity, engaging in collaborative support, and developing a support and transition plan
• Words Matter (PDF, 505KB): Guidelines on using inclusive language in the workplace
• Writing Guide for Indigenous Content: a writing guide developed in partnership with Indigenous writers and researchers to help produce content that respects the cultural integrity of Indigenous Peoples
• Modernizing Language Initiative: a reference guide for updating B.C. government policies and products

• 2025 Pay Transparency Report (PDF, 167KB), 2025 Pay Transparency Report, text-only version (DOC, 42KB): consistent with the requirements of B.C.’s Pay Transparency Act, the BC Public Service will now report annually on gender pay data as part of the province’s efforts towards closing the pay gap
