Last updated on April 15, 2026We use data from intersection safety cameras (ISC) to see how well the program is working. The data shows fewer drivers are running red lights at all camera locations. The cameras have also helped reduce serious crashes, including side‑impact, head‑on, and pedestrian crashes. As a result, roads are safer for everyone.

Program statistics
ISC program outputs are summarized in the table below. Violation ticket fines include a victim surcharge levy. Net revenues from all violation tickets are returned to B.C. municipalities to support policing and public safety programs.
Intersection safety camera violation ticket data by location is also available in the B.C. Data Catalogue. The dataset is updated annually.

The tables below show ISC prosecution results for disputed tickets. “Other” outcomes are mostly already-paid violation tickets, adjourned hearings, and withdrawn tickets. The total number of hearings includes all hearings scheduled during the year, even if the ticket was disputed earlier.
